Graded Mock Exam

Practice with the ACTEX ALTAM Graded Mock Exam - a great way to predict your exam outcome! Before you take the official ALTAM exam - take the ACTEX ALTAM Graded Mock Exam and get feedback from an expert.

This Graded Mock Exam has all the typical elements your SOA exam will have plus the questions and format are set up just like the SOA ALTAM exam.

How does it work?

• Only 50 Graded Mock exams accepted for the April ‘24 exam


• You will receive the ACTEX ALTAM Graded Mock Exam by mid February


• The Graded Mock Exam will come in a PDF format. You will write your solutions on your own paper.


• Take the exam in the allotted time so you can simulate the 3 hours that will be given at the actual exam


• To submit your solutions for grading, you will scan and email to the instructor (last submission date April 9th)

On Exam FAM-L, you learned the basics of life insurance mathematics; mortality models, insurances, annuities, premiums, and reserves. On ALTAM, we discuss more general long-term insurances. Abraham Weishaus Ph.D., FSA, CFA, MAAA

Abraham was formerly a financial reporting actuary for Guardian Life Insurance Company. He served on the SOA's Education and Examination Committee for 11 years. He also taught exam preparation courses for the Actuarial Society of Greater New York (ASNY) for 15 years, for CAMAR for 6 years, and for St. Johns University for 5 years. Abe is currently a professor at Columbia University, where he has been teaching for over 10 years. He has been an ASM author for over 20 years and publishes material for exams P, FAM, ALTAM, ASTAM, SRM, MAS-I, and MAS-II.

Yufeng Guo, ASA

Yufeng Guo immigrated to the U.S. from China in 1996 and has been an actuary for 20 years. He is a career ASA currently working for Mutual of Omaha, Nebraska.
